In second Chronicles, the Ammonites come against Jehoshaphat and his army to battle. After fasting and prayer, the Lord said to Jehoshaphat “Be not afraid…for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” The next morning they rose and he appointed singers who marched before the army singing “Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.” 2 Chronicles 20

I tried to envision this scene as I wrote this arrangement, and as my ward choir performed it.
